07/16/01 Here is the review from the Source KRAYZIE BONE - THUG ON DA LINE 3.5 MICS In addition to the bone thug collective's INABILITY TO MOVE RECORDS IN BULKS THE WAY THEY ONCE DID, inner termiol has plagued these CLEVELAND characters. CONTRACTUAL DISPUTES HAVE PUSHED BIZZY AWAY "AND CHAOS HAS FOUND A HOME WITHIN KRAYZIE BONE'S MO THUGS FAMILY. Knowing this, one should be able to understand the dark cloud that hangs over the 1st half of krayzie's 2nd solo lp, THUG ON DA LINE. Music scholars have long asserted that hip hop is the blues of the urban youth. Krayzie's latest joint validates that theory. His many rants involve bieng tormented by voices inside his head, harassed by the cops and irritated by his "bitches who aint actin' right." EVEN WHEN HE ATTEMPTS TO LIGHTEN UP LATER ON THE ALBUM WITH " I Dont Know What" and " Roll Up Some Mo'," the underlying tone is still gloomy. Krayzie, WHO LOVES BRAGGING ABOUT CARRYING A PLATINUM GHETTO PASS, REMAINS OBSESSED WITH THUG LIFE(SIX SONG TITLES CONTAIN THE WORD). But his mission is not solely to glamorize the concrete jungle. throughout, he paints himself as the tormented thug. On "Time After Time" he confesses, "Temptation is keeping me steadily going under/and i wounder if i could make it through the thunder." On the poignant "Cant Hustle 4 Ever" he admit's that he's tired of runnin the streets, but reasons that it's all he knows. A sorrowfull voice advises him to choose a better path, asking, "Do you know where you're going to?/ Do you like the things the street is showing you?" these cautionary narritives make THUG ON DA LINE a penetrating expierence. When he's in the zone, Krayzie can inspire deep thoughts with his weepy testimonials. HOWEVER, WHEN HE DWEELS ON TALES OF SENSLESS VIOLENCE, AS ON "Knight riduz Wuz Here" AND THE TITLE TRACK CUT, HE GETS CAUGHT IN A LYRICAL RUT. It's his slick bone flow over the synth-heavy bass-drenched ganster groove's that allows THUG ON DA LINE to hold your attention as well as any "20-track disc." --------------------> 07/14/01 In the new Entertainment Weekly there is an article about Krayzie and the movie their makin: THE BONE RANGER if you think a hip hop movie set in the old west sounds like a crazy idea, you're right- A Krayzie Bone idea, that is. The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony singer is developing a rap western called Ghetto Cowboys. Bone will star as Sawed-off-Slim, a Robin Hood style outlaw on the run from the law and in a race to claim a secret stash of treasure. "I watch a lot of westerns," says Krayzie. "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly; The Wild Bunch. Young Guns is my favorite. Man that was the Shit". The movie has yet to be cast ("I could see Da Brat or Eve in there, and maybe Mary J. Blige and Ice Cube," he says. "I dont just want to stick to musicians; I also want to have proffesional actors". But krayzie says the script has drawn serious Hollywood interest and he's hoping to start shooting by the end of the year. And what about a soundtrack? "its gonna be something nobody ever expected in the industry, period," Krayzie says. "its gonna be hip-hop finally clashing with country. its goin down." Krayzie Bone was NOT on BET's 106 and Park yesterday and he will be on it this coming Thursday, 6pm eastern. Also be sure you are voting for Krayzie's new video at bet.com --------------------> 07/13/01 There have been rumors going around that Bone is off Ruthless, well they aren't. Kaymont cleared things up and said they still are. Look out for an unreleased Krayzie song "What a Wonderful World" and also watch out for the Supervision clip that features Bone. I should have both up later on. Also Krayzie will be on 106 park later on today. --------------------> 07/06/01 Krayzie's album is once again delayed until Aug. 28th. The reason being is that Krayzie is going to add a song with all the Bone members (bizzy, layzie, n wish) to help kinda promote the new Bone album coming out. He also going to be adding a bonus cd that will have 3 bonus songs on them. The title of the 3 bonus songs are: Thug Story, This Beef Is Ready, and Thugs House. Only major record stores will carry the bonus cd. [P'z to K-Mont] thug world order is completely been recorded as a matter of fact,,,,they recorded 65 tracks or so,,,,right now they are filtering out the songs and narrowing them down,,,ALL 4 MEMBERS Are on the album that will hit in OCTOBER....SECOND BIZZY AND KRAYZIE are getting along now like the good ole days of E99...............BONES NEW ALBUM THUG WORLD ORDER IS THERE LAST ALBUM UNDER CONTRACT WITH RUTHLESS RECORDS SO HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIND A NEW COMPANY......
